The highlight of the morning is job landing announcements. We love to hear our members’ stories and celebrate their success!
The opening session begins promptly at 8:00 am with a brief prayer. Everyone is welcome. We encourage job seekers to arrive at 7:30 am for informal networking and to get settled in.

Networking Rooms
During Networking sessions, employment seekers exchange ideas, contacts and leads for the job search. Everyone has the opportunity to share their 10-Second Introduction in an encouraging, supportive environment. Volunteer Leaders facilitate each session, providing thought-provoking questions to enhance conversation. We also provide details on how to incorporate informational interviews into the job search process. These sessions are the cornerstone of SFG: connecting people through Networking.

What to Expect at a Southlake Focus Group Meeting
Our weekly meetings include three distinctive segments: Opening Session, Job Search Jumpstart and Networking. Additionally, Special Events offer insightful and relevant presentations for job seekers. Our typical morning agenda follows the below:
7:30-8:00 AM Arrival, Check-In, Informal Networking
8:00-8:45 AM Opening Session
9:00-10:30 AM Job Search Jumpstart (First-Time Guests) or Networking Sessions
10:45am-12:00 PM Featured Speaker or Career Workshop
We encourage people to arrive around 7:30 AM to get settled in and begin informal networking.
Our Opening Session is where we see H.O.P.E. in action! We provide a forum for job opening announcements, contact requests at target companies, landing announcements, and recruiter tips. Our goal is to start the morning right and encourage job seekers.
First-time guests attend a comprehensive orientation session called SFG Job Search Jumpstart, which provides information on getting started and planning your job search. Come prepared to learn and start making practical steps in your job search journey.
The heart of SFG is Networking. Year after year, we see that Networking is the most useful tool to your next role. This is your opportunity to share leads and ideas with other job seekers and build confidence in how you speak to your unique skills.
When the Job Search Jumpstart and Networking sessions end, we have Featured Speaker sessions designed to give job seekers the most practical, current information to aid in the job search. Due to our monthly volunteer leader meeting, there are no Featured Speaker sessions on the 1st Thursday of each month.
