The Southlake Focus Group (SFG) is an independent, nondenominational networking group for professionals in career transition and job search. Southlake Focus Group exists to support all job seekers at no charge. We practice H.O.P.E. (Helping One Person Every day) by providing encouragement, motivation, tools, and resources to get you back into the workforce as quickly as possible.
We are open to all job titles, functions, and industries. Our members come from all across the DFW area, including Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, and Collin counties. We also welcome job seekers from all over the U.S. to join our online Zoom sessions. Each week you will have the opportunity to interact with people from a broad spectrum of jobs, departments, and management levels.
We meet every Thursday morning at White's Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas. We encourage job seekers to arrive around 7:30 AM to check in. The Opening Session begins promptly at 8:00 AM.

Please park in the East Parking Lot and enter the building through the large "Welcome" entrance. We meet in Evans Hall on your right once inside. Our greeters and volunteers are at the front doors and inside to welcome you and guide you through the check-in process.
While we strongly encourage meeting in-person for better collaboration, our sessions are also available online. For job seekers outside the DFW area, this is a great way to connect and take advantage of SFG’s many resources.
There is no need to register or sign up prior to attending your first time. Just arrive around 7:30 AM so our helpful volunteers can walk you through check-in.
We encourage professional attire. This is a professional business meeting where you will meet recruiters, HR professionals, and others who can help you land your next role. We recommend that you dress and act as though you’re on an interview—because you just might be!
A smile and a helpful attitude are always welcome. We also encourage bringing your business cards with your contact information, which can be bought inexpensively online or through local office supplies stores. You may also find a portfolio or notepad useful to write down important information.
We know attendees are in active job search, so we welcome the use of cell phones at our meetings. You can also use your phone to make connections with other SFG members on LinkedIn. Please remember to be respectful of others if you need to take a call.
There is no fee to attend Southlake Focus Group. We do not charge for any of our services. Even though our membership and resources are free, the value we offer is high. Though uncommon, if you see any individual or organization who solicits services for monetary exchange at one of our meetings, please report them to an SFG volunteer or volunteer leader.
We welcome individuals, companies, and recruiters with job openings and career opportunities to visit us each Thursday. We time set aside in our meeting agenda for job announcers to provide a brief overview of open positions and meet one-on-one with prospective candidates.
If you have jobs to announce at our Thursday meeting, please make sure to check in with our Announcement Table up front upon arrival to ensure you meet our guidelines.
Outside of our weekly sessions, we also have a members-only Google Group where members post unique job openings every day. We do not post or announce Multi-Level Marketing and 100% Commission roles.
